Bibi & Rob have been making music together for years. Now it’s official! There’s a new duo in town!
Rob Norris is the bassist for The Bongos, THE power pop band from Hoboken, New Jersey that emerged from the New York City arts scene. They are led by Richard Barone, and have been active since the 1980s.
Bibi & Rob both love strong melodic pop – and are partial to the ‘60’s flavor. They’ve performed at events and festivals in the Hudson Valley, house concerts and acoustic songwriter gigs on and off since 2005!
In the last few years, they’ve reconnected for real. They were approached by the Richard Lloyd Group to open a show at The Falcon in Marlboro, NY in April of 2024. A successful performance that brought dozens of friends and fans forged the realization that this is a real musical entity, and they got serious!
In The Hudson Valley, Rob also plays with Tulula! A bit more about Rob’s rich and illustrious career: over the years he has played with Donovan, Damo Suzuki (Can), Garth Hudson (Band), Steve Holley (Wings), Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Group), David Johansen (NY Dolls), Carlos Alomar (Bowie), Marshall Crenshaw, Moby, Indie supergroup East Of Venus (Feelies, Bongos, Winter Hours), Myra Melford, Frank Bango, OmU (who twice toured in Cuba) and Blue Paradox (serving the Sacred Fire Community), as well as members of R.E.M., Yo La Tengo, Throbbing Gristle, The B-52's, Television, Osibisa, The Velvet Underground and countless others.

Bibi & Rob played at Arlenes Grocery on 7/12/2024 in NYC at a benefit concert for Sharon D’Lugoff’s. Sharon is a dear friend and lifelong member of the downtown music community who is in a fight to beat cancer. The night was a spirited, uplifting musical celebration of her indomitable spirit. Friends and family filled the room with loving vibes. Her daughter Alice Blythe organized the night, and her stellar band Alice and The Downs played beautiful set. Performers included Emily Duff, Dave Foster, Cynthia Sley, Luigi Babe, Al Madde, Felice Rosser, Russel Alderson, Tommy Devito, Rembert Block, and many more. Drummer Finley Hunt, Jahn Xavier and Charlie Roth played with us! So many old friends and new – Sharon brings the best folks together. Her father Art D’Lugoff started the Village Gate!
If you can donate to her Go Fund Me, please do. This is a tough time and we need to pull together.
